League of Women Voters of Moore County
~ PROGRAM GOALS 2025-2027


From the LWVMC Bylaws: Article 9 Program: The program of the LWVMC shall consist of action to implement the policies of LWVUS and LWVNC and those local issues chosen for study and action by the LWVMC. 

Focus on local government and midterm elections

• Municipal Elections and Midterm Elections
o Voter Education and Information, GOTV, Voter Registration,                   
o Candidate Forums, VOTE411

• Support for local election administration
• Observer Corps 
• Districting study of Moore County Commissioners and School Board
• Democracy Education for children, youth, young adults, adults
• Partnerships on projects, including civic education, with a variety of local organizations
• Information on local Moore County government – researched and shared   

Monitor and advocate for Voting Rights and Equality of Opportunity at all levels of government

Issues for focus/partnerships:
   

• National Popular Vote Interstate Compact   
• Women’s Reproductive Rights 
• Immigration 
• Climate Crisis

 Public Education funding Support the Ruth Pauley Lecture Series on contemporary issues.

 

ALL League efforts shall be approached through a non-partisan and DEI lens, with efforts to partner with other organizations with similar missions.
