About this event

LWVUS has Positions on CONGRESS and THE PRESIDENCY, however there is no official approved League Position on the FEDERAL JUDICIARY.
The League is currently developing an official position on the Federal Judiciary as an essential component of US democracy.
The study includes addressing concerns and clarifying: judicial accountability, transparency, independence, and ethics.
This is an important Civic opportunity to educate ourselves about the federal judiciary AND to have input into the League’s Position.
The research has been gathered, and our task is to learn from it and add our voice through a consensus process.
We will have two meetings on this topic:
Village Hall in Pinehurst on Tuesday, March 18, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
In the first session, we will share the research about federal judicial accountability, transparency, independence, and ethics – background information for our decision-making.
Village Hall in Pinehurst on Tuesday, April 8, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The second session will be the Consensus Meeting for League members to come to consensus on the 12 questions on the LWVUS Federal
Judiciary Study Survey Form.
