The League of Women Voters of North Carolina is launching a new statewide virtual book club designed to spark conversation, learning, and connection among members across local Leagues.

Members are invited to register for the first session which will take place on April 23 at 7:00 PM via Zoom and will feature Anatomy of a Purple State by political scientist Chris Cooper.

League members may remember Cooper’s engaging presentation at the LWVNC Convention last spring, where he shared insights into North Carolina’s evolving political landscape.

Members of the Citizen Initiative (CI) Team will host the inaugural book club and have selected Cooper’s book because they see it as a valuable resource as the League works to broaden awareness of the Citizen Initiative and strengthen civic engagement across the state.

By creating a shared space for thoughtful discussion, the LWVNC Book Club aims to deepen members’ understanding of the issues shaping democracy in North Carolina while strengthening connections across local Leagues.
