Voter Services League Action Team

Focus and Objectives of Voter Services League Action Team

  • Ensures volunteers are trained on voter registration and are able to answer voter questions regarding registration form.  Ensuring the correct registration form is used and that all forms are turned into the Board of Elections.  Organize Candidate forums for local races and organize post card events to reach voters that have not participated in the last several election cycles to encourage interest in the voting process.

What do volunteers need to do:

  • Learn how to register voters by viewing a training video.  Help with candidate forums by participating in formatting questions for candidates, handing out voting information and registering voters.  This is not new to our league, we have notes and best practices from previous events, but welcome new ideas too!  Please share your time and talent with Voter Services.  This is a great way to get a close-up view of the candidates in our local races.

VOTE 411 League Action Team

Focus and Objectives of Vote 411 League Action Team

  • Obtain and post candidate responses to VOTE 411 questions; promote VOTE 411 throughout the community through league events

What do volunteers need to do:

  • Assist with calling candidates to obtain email addresses. Once invitations have been emailed, call candidates with questions or those that have not responded to encourage their participation. Promote VOTE 411 at League events. As administrator, I will assume responsibility for all computer work: Dropbox spreadsheet, sending out invitations and reminders, thank you’, etc.

Sandhills Community College Liaison League Action Team

Focus and Objectives of SCC Liaison League Action Team

  • Promote voter registration and voting information at the community college to participation of the students in the voting process.

What do volunteers need to do:

  • Learn how to register voters by watching training video.  Hand out voter information along with registering voters at events held at the Sandhills Community College campus.  If you are interested in helping students understand the voting process and registering them to vote this is the team for you to join.

Fair Elections League Action Team

Focus and Objectives of Fair Elections League Action Team

  • During election cycle, work together with other Voter Service committees, including Vote 411 to plan and organize candidate forums, voter information for voter outreach, etc.

  • After the election, study the election procedures for Moore County Commissioners.  Moore County is one of 10 or so counties, who require that Commissioner candidates live in separate residential districts.  However, all the voters in the county vote for all of the candidates (at-large voting)

  • Committee Meets monthly.

What do volunteers need to do:

  • Study and research topics pertaining to election procedures, and districting.  Report on findings to the general membership.   Plan for future action if a change is sought.

I am interested in becoming a volunteer for the Voter Services Team.
