Observer Corps League Action Team
Focus and Objectives of Observer Corps League Action Team
League Observers are the eyes and ears of the League. The League sends representatives to observe specific public board meetings in Moore County.
Observers do not speak at meetings, but prepare a short summary report on what they observe.
-
Observers learn how government works and about issues of concern to citizens and the League. They alert the LWVMC Board about opportunities for advocacy on League related issues.
-
League presence at these meetings adds to the League's visibility and credibility- builds positive relationships with local officials.
-
League observing promotes transparent and responsive government in the community and encourages Boards to abide by Sunshine Laws.
-
Five Observer Teams 14 members
-
We are always looking to add members to our team.
What do volunteers need to do:
Attend meetings, complete and submit a required report detailing information pertinent to what transpired at the meeting pertinent to the LWVMC.
